I went to 2008 Wordpress WordCamp Utah as a representative of bluehost. We listened to several people. These are the people that talked:
Matt Mullenweg is one of the founding developers of wordpress and he gave us some history of wordpress and where it is going. He also showed us some of the new wordpress 2.7. It will have a new dashboard design which I think looks really good. The section to post to your blog will have the ability to move the tool bars around that will be nice. He seems like a young person but is having a ton of success.
Richard K Miller talked to us about using wordpress as a CMS. I haven’t really thought of using wordpress to be a CMS system. He opened my eyes to know that is a possibility. What you can do is use pages and then have one section of new material that is done in posts. This will give you an easy way to keep your site up to date.
Cameron Moll talked to us about Good vs Great design. You could tell from his presentation slide show that he was an awesome designer. He gave lots of tips about design. The tip I liked the most was how he develops all his sites in Grey scale and make sure the important stuff stand out the end user. What he does is make something greyscale and then puts a blur over it. This will show you what is important. He is very smart and has wrote a few books. One of the books is called CSS Mastery.
Thom Allen talked to us about PodCasting. This isn’t a subject I was interested in and it didn’t excite me or anything. It was still good knowledge to know. Maybe one day I will have to try PodCasting.
Ash Buckles talked to us about SEO Tips for our blogs. He gave us a lot of good tips for our blogs. I will provide you the text he gave us for wordpress plugins:

Alex King talked to us about developing wordpress plugins. Gave us some general info on how to do it. He then did some announcements on his show about some new things his company came out with. You can see his site with all the plugins at crowd favorite. I am also using there new theme they released called the Carrington Theme.
After Alex talked it was time to go home.
